“The Bollywood star’s powerful narration adds depth to the historical epic on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj”
Bollywood fans have another reason to look forward to the much-anticipated historical epic Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, has already been making waves since the release of its teaser in 2024. Now, in an exciting development, veteran actor Ajay Devgn has lent his voice to the film, bringing an added layer of intensity to the storytelling.
Ajay Devgn’s Commanding Voice Joins Chhaava
According to sources, Devgn, known for his deep and impactful voice, was approached by Vijan and Utekar for a special voiceover in Chhaava. Without hesitation, the Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior actor agreed to contribute his voice to the film, which tells the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
A source close to the production shared, “Ajay Devgn is among the very few actors in Indian cinema who can captivate audiences with just his voice. His dialogue delivery, especially in intense scenes, elevates the impact on the big screen. When Dinesh Vijan and Laxman Utekar requested him for a voiceover in Chhaava, he instantly agreed.”
A Tribute to Another Maratha Warrior
This collaboration holds special significance as Devgn has previously portrayed a Maratha warrior in the 2020 blockbuster Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, where he played the titular role of Tanhaji Malusare. Given his prior connection to the grand legacy of the Maratha empire, it was only fitting for him to lend his voice to another powerful story from the same era.
“Ajay Devgn was more than willing to contribute to a film that celebrates the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj,” the source added. “He completed the dubbing in the last week, and his narration has brought a whole new dimension to Chhaava.”
The First Big Release of 2025
Scheduled for a grand theatrical release on Valentine’s Day 2025, Chhaava is set to be one of the first major releases of the year. With its powerful storytelling, a stellar cast, and now, the added gravitas of Ajay Devgn’s narration, the film promises to be a cinematic spectacle.
As advance bookings open, anticipation is building for this historical drama, which aims to honor the courage and sacrifice of one of India’s greatest yet often overlooked warriors. With Devgn’s compelling voice guiding the audience through this epic tale, Chhaava is poised to make a lasting impact.
